With a perfect hillside location overlooking resplendent Reigate Common, The Skimmington Castle is a traditional pub welcoming drinkers, diners and dogs. Very few places to eat in Reigate have our dog-friendly approach but as a family-run pub, we believe in extending the warmest of welcomes to everybody – even our four-legged visitors!
Guests can enjoy a selection of real ales, continental lagers, good wines and delicious home-cooked meals. At The Skimmington Castle, we believe that the traditional pub feel counts for everything. Our cosy inglenook restaurant provides the perfect dining experience but if you prefer to socialise outside, relax on our deck or front patio and simply enjoy the view.
Being a dog-friendly pub, we attract people from all walks of life and many travel to see us from far beyond Reigate because there’s something a little bit different about how we do things. Charity fundraising events and our legendary Sunday lunches have made The Skimmington Castle one of the most popular places to eat and drink in Surrey.
Ample parking space is available and as well as being a dog-friendly pub, we welcome children too. Enjoy a walk across Reigate Common, build up an appetite and come back to our traditional pub for a well-earned meal or a refreshing drink. Cream teas and our own ice cream parlour ensure the perfect time for you, your family and your friends.
The Skimmington Castle is located at Bonny’s Road near Reigate and dates back as far at the 17th century. We like to maintain the traditional pub feel by offering good food, the best real ales and, most importantly, a truly friendly welcome. Being a child and dog-friendly pub is important to us. We regularly support dog charities and keep snacks for dogs at the bar.
There’s even somewhere available if you want to tie your horse outside so, if you regularly hack across Reigate Common but have never been able to find places to eat where horses can be accommodated too, the staff at our traditional pub would love to meet you!
Walkers, cyclists, clubs and organisations are all welcome at The Skimmington Castle. If you’re arriving as a large group, let us know in advance and we’ll reserve a space especially for you. And, if you’re thinking of holding a function in the Reigate area, our traditional pub can accommodate 70 people with hot or cold finger buffets or a hot food selection.
